【Artist’s Description】 In an era where everyone has a watch or a smartphone, what role will the station clock play? " I See Time " is an electronic astronomical clock that reflects the characteristics of a maritime city and the technological foundation of Kaohsiung. In the past, the station clock provided travelers, station staff, and the entire town with a common standard of time. It reminded people when it was time to depart and heightened the anticipation of friends and family arriving. In the sunken plaza in front of the old station, we have created an astronomical clock that merges tradition with technology. The modern design of the astronomical clock reflects the maritime city’s identity and the technological essence of Kaohsiung. At special moments each day, the clock's panel will display scenes of the sky and night sky. People on both the ground level and the basement floor will be able to see clouds drifting by and stars shifting in the night sky during their waiting time. A theatrical performance, set like a scene in front of a temple, will extend the experience of waiting at the station, creating more engaging connections and adding layers of interest.
